Big Emotions Live Music Tour

BIG EMOTIONS: Mindful Music for Little People is a new creative wellbeing resource created by Laura Loft, which uses music to help recognise core emotions and ideas of how to regulate. The story has been thoughtfully created to help provide a wellbeing toolkit for young children to recognise their BIG EMOTIONS with ideas to help regulate them. It is aimed at EYFS/KS1 (3-7yr olds), but has been adapted for other groups such as support refugee families and used in Intergenerational Music Making.

Laura has collaborated with Trinity Primary School who have been successful receiving funding from Devon Music Education Hub to work on a Big Emotions Live Music Tour around Exeter-based schools this year aimed at Foundation Stage, Year 1 & 2. This will involve Laura and another musician playing along live with a variety of instruments to the soundtrack and video of the story.

This project builds upon a successful pilot on World Book Day 2020 delivering a music wellbeing day at Trinity Primary School where Laura used music, art and movement to aid wellbeing ending in an interactive performance of the live narrated book.

The main aim is to inspire children through music to develop their emotional wellbeing and mental health.
