Jon Nash

‘Write Places’

Jon Nash collected online messages from Exeter residents about places in the city that meant a lot to them, receiving a range of responses, memories and stories connected to sites all over the city. He also spent a day around Exeter with his camera spending time in some of those places and a few off the beaten track, overhearing conversations and talking to the people he met while taking photographs that try to capture something of the space.

These fragments, memories and photographs then were combined and refined into a collection of short microplays combined into a little photo booklet.

Thanks to: Belinda Dillon, Exeter City of Literature, Laurence, Matt, Mark, Vit, Pete, Matt, Amy, Jordan, Daniel, Lauren, George, Tom, Laura, Amy, other online responders, the wonderful volunteers at St Nicholas’ Priory and the strangers overheard or whose names I didn’t catch.
