Seminar: Artists Researching and Researchers Crafting

  • Online Exeter United Kingdom (map)

In this encounter, Brazilian graffiti artist and activist CinnaSolar and researchers Gemma Lucas (University of Exeter) and Jimmy Turner (Binks Research Hub, University of Edinburgh) will continue on their creative journeys towards co-producing artistic/scholarly understandings and reformulations of the concept of gender equality, begun in the artistic residencies ‘Masculinidades NoBela’ (Rio de Janeiro, 2019 – Cinna and Jimmy) and ‘Wild Hive X CinnaSolar’ (virtual, 2021 – Cinna and Gemma).

This event is organised by the Wellcome Centre for Cultures and Environments of Health, together with the Binks Hub (University of Edinburgh), as part of the series Artists Researching and Researchers Crafting: Artistic Residencies as sites for entering into relationships with concepts.

The research presented is partially funded by SWDTP, WCCEH and was supported by Arts & Culture Exeter.
