The Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival welcomes audiences from all over East Devon to a wide variety of author events both fiction and non-fiction, creative workshops for adults and families together with lots of fun family activities, many of which are free.

This year’s sparkling programme includes Darcey Bussell, Celia Imrie and Jacqueline Wilson together with Tim Harford, Jonny Benjamin and Kehinde Andrews, and children's storyteller Cat Weatherill and illustrator of Horrible Histories, Martin Brown. We have Aardman model workshops and Alice in Wonderland-themed activities free for families in our Mini Marquee.

Tickets for author events available from £10 - £20, Student concessions, Workshops from £10 - £30. Many family events are free.

Accessibility Statement: The Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival welcomes everyone. Its website is fully compliant so that it can be used by as many people as possible including those with impaired vision, motor difficulties, cognitive impairment or learning disabilities, deafness or impaired hearing. We have disabled access at all festival venues. Parking is limited but we have blue badge parking areas at the Public Hall, St Peter's Church and Temple Church. Wheel chair accessible toilets are available at all venues. Personal assistant tickets are available free of charge to anyone attending with a disability. Persons using a wheelchair can request reserved seating by emailing festival@budlitfest.org.uk. We are happy to provide early entrance options if required and if possible due to event timings. Festival venues have audible induction loops and additional viewing screens. Experienced stewards at each event are always happy to help. Trained Paramedics are available throughout the five days of the festival.
