Liv Torc Women’s Poetry Workshop

  • St Thomas Library 35 Church Road Exeter, England, EX2 9AZ United Kingdom (map)

Spoken Word Artist, producer and former Bard of Exeter Liv Torc will be running a fun, accessible and important workshop groups for women in St Thomas, Alphington, Redhill and areas served by the St Thomas Library.

The workshop will invite women of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to creatively share their personal experiences of lockdown and the coronavirus pandemic, asking two important things;

  1. How has the last year affected you and women within your community, exploring the issues of home schooling, burnout, employment, mental health, childcare, the motherload and the myriad of ways women’s lives have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic.

  2. We will also be looking at artefacts and documents from the British Library exhibition and historical accounts from the St Thomas area, specifically those relating to active women in their communities during World War One and Two, when the role of our grandmothers and great grandmothers also dramatically changed due to a massive global crisis.

The workshop: The workshop will be two hours with a break. It will be a mixture of fun creative exercises, group discussion and poetry writing. All experience levels. Liv is just excited to hear your stories.
