  • Exeter Custom House Exeter, England, EX2 4BZ United Kingdom (map)

Poet Caleb Parkin will lead you through approaches which – on the surface – remove choice (this year’s National Poetry Day theme). Using decks of cards, dice, random word generators and more, we’ll be inspired by a selection of poems on the theme of Choice. Writing in response, we’ll using these tools and toys to disrupt and gamify our writing patterns. In the second part of the session, we’ll create a Personal Universe Deck and introduce approaches for you to take away and use in your writing practice. Expect unexpected poems to emerge from these ludic interventions.

Stick around at the Custom House to share your creations, or other poems, at the Poetry Cabaret later in the evening. You can find out more and book the cabaret (6.30-7.30pm) HERE.
