Sensory Mapping: A poetry and cartography workshop with Quay Words writer-in-residence Sophie Dumont

  • Custom House 46 The Quay Exeter, England, EX2 4AN United Kingdom (map)

Join Quay Words' summer writer-in-residence in a guided outdoor exploration of Exeter Quay.

Sophie invites you to come and create a deeply personal, sensory map of the quayside to add to this space’s wealth of cartographical history.

Ditch the compass, the signposts, the landmarks and instead map that mint choc chip ice cream and the nostalgia it brings. Pinpoint the sound of the swans slipping past or the scent of railing rust left on your palm. Mark out the water disturbance from a kayaker’s steady strokes.

Workshop attendees will be invited to read their work at a celebration event on 31st August where Sophie will share her commissioned poems.

Cost: Free
