Tanka Poems and Paper Boats workshop with Kim Squirell

  • Custom House, Exeter Quay Commercial Road Exeter, England, EX2 4AB United Kingdom (map)

A creative family workshop of paperfolding and poetry at the Quay

Come and explore impressions, ideas, hopes and dreams for our beautiful river and canal.
What can you see, hear, touch, smell, taste?
How does it make you feel to sit by the water and spend time with family and friends?
Discover who else lived, worked and played on the quay.

This workshop is aimed at family groups. Kim will lead you in the making of your own paper poetry boats, inspired by her residency installation at the Custom House. Come along for a relaxed afternoon of making and poetry.

Cost: Pay What You Can Afford

About the writer: Kim Squirrell is a multidisciplinary writer and artist. Raised in Birmingham, but born to live in the Westcountry, her Irish-Caribbean heritage has led her to explore colonialism and the lives of working people, finding commonality and connections through the work of hands.
