Room to Explore - National Poetry Day 2022

  • St Stephen's Church High Street Exeter, England, EX4 3LW United Kingdom (map)

You’re warmly invited to 'Room to Explore', our fourth Inner Room National Poetry Day (NPD) event, on Thursday, October 6, between 10.30am and 3pm in St Stephen’s Church, High Street, Exeter.

The aim is to provide you with some breathing space to explore reading and/or writing poetry, so please feel free to drop in for a short time, come for longer, or stay for the whole day.

There will be seven self-guided writing prompts to explore. You don’t have to visit them all – and you don’t even have to do any writing unless you want to. You might enjoy simply sitting quietly with a prompt. There will be a reading space, too, where you can dip into a selection of poetry books. And at 1pm we'll hold a poetry reading on this year’s NPD theme, ‘the environment’.

If you’d like more details of the day or to find out more about Inner Room, a project from the Parish of Central Exeter, please email us at innerroom@parishofcentralexeter.co.uk or visit www.innerroom.co.uk

Cost: Free

Accessibility Statement: The main part of the ancient St Stephen's Church is wheelchair accessible, but there are steps up to the Bow Chapel and Gallery. Six of the seven writing prompts are either accessible or can be brought into the main part of the church on request; the seventh can be viewed from a short distance away. A hearing loop is available on request for the lunchtime reading.
