Spork! Performing Poetry Workshop with Bohdan Piasecki

  • The Workshop, Exeter Phoenix Gandy Street Exeter, England, EX4 3LS United Kingdom (map)

This 90 min workshop, led by Bohdan Piasecki, will bring voice and body into your text. We’ll explore what creative possibilities are opened up by speaking your words live to other willing humans. We’ll look at how performance can fuel your writing, and how your writing can help your voice ring out. We’ll explore practical techniques to use on stage, find inspiration in the work of poets past and present, and take part in some (frankly preposterous) warm-ups and exercises.

Participants are advised to bring a full draft of a poem they won’t mind rewriting a bit as we go.

Bohdan Piasecki is an accomplished writer and spoken-word artist, as well as the Assistant Professor in Creative Writing at the University of Birmingham.

Cost: £8
