  • Waterstones Exeter Roman Gate 252 High Street Exeter, England, EX4 3PZ United Kingdom (map)

Join us for an evening discussion with two hugely talented crime writers. Holly Watt and Catriona Ward will be joining us to talk about everything crime!

Holly Watt started her career at the Sunday Times, before working on the investigation teams at the Telegraph, where she played a key role in exposing the MPs’ expenses scandal. Holly’s debut thriller, To the Lions, was published in 2019 and was shortlisted for the 2019 Wilbur Smith Adventure Writing Prize and was awarded the Crime Writers’ Association Ian Fleming Steel Dagger. A sequel, The Dead Line, was published in April 2020. Book three in the series, The Hunt and the Kill, was published in summer 2021, and the fourth will be forthcoming in 2023.

Catriona Ward was born in Washington, DC and grew up in the United States, Kenya, Madagascar, Yemen, and Morocco. She read English at St Edmund Hall, Oxford and is a graduate of the Creative Writing MA at the University of East Anglia. Catriona's book The Last House on Needless Street was a bestseller and wonderfully praised by Stephen King! Her new book Sundial is a stunning thriller that is imbued with exquisite darkness.
