Inclusivity Resources
Black Cultural Archives
“Our mission is to collect, preserve and celebrate the histories of people of African and Caribbean descent in the UK and to inspire and give strength to individuals, communities, and society.”
Black South West Network
“BSWN’s over-arching strategic intent is to build dynamic, independent, and strong Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic communities, businesses and organizations that are empowered to flourish while challenging systemic barriers and forging a true path for themselves.”
Exeter Decolonising Network
“A collective of staff, students and community members affiliated to the University of Exeter. Our Network members collaborate across the Exeter and Southwest area to advance progressive knowledge and best practice around decolonial thoughts through dialogue, activities and events within and beyond university. Through this work, EDN aims to develop multiple forms of knowledge, teaching, learning and research grounded in emancipatory and liberatory practices.”
Inkclusion
Inkclusion have created an accessible and comprehensive access guide for UK literary sector organisations to use when planning events. Covering accessibility for both invited speakers and audience members, the guide outlines access for various events — from book launches, festival events, conferences, panels, workshops, fellowships, to residencies. It includes information on running in-person, online, and hybrid events.
Migrant Media
Migrant Media was established in 1989 and is a collective of radical film makers working in documentary production. We are media producers and activists embedded with communities of social and political interest. Our work has a focus on race and class with a central narrative of resistance.
Intercom Trust
Intercom Trust is a community-led charity that aims to build a South West region where people are treated with respect, celebrated, and where vibrant LGBT+ communities live with real equality. Founded in 1997, the need for Intercom still remains vital today. Despite advances in attitudes and legislation, our LGBT+ communities still face inequality, ignorance, prejudice and discrimination.
Trans and Non-Binary Cafe
At the Trans and Non-binary Café we offer a chance to come together with other trans people and discuss whatever you would like. Usually at some point being trans comes up but we believe there’s great value in being with other trans people, having a chance to catch up and talk and make friends with people who share the same sorts of experiences.
